This case study showcases how I led the development of the Home Management Web App, a web-based application for managing developing properties and developer-owned real estate listings.
The technology stack for this project included Svelte for the front-end framework, Google Maps API for visualizing properties on a map, and Laravel for the back-end and MySQL for database, hosted on Google Cloud Ubuntu instance.
The implementation of the Home Management Web App resulted in increased efficiency and effectiveness for real estate agents, developers, and interested parties. This led to an increase in the number of properties listed, interested parties viewing and inquiring, as well as transactions and revenue. The website was eventually absorbed by a leading home developer and property investment firm in the USA, demonstrating its success and value.
One of the challenges faced during this project was integrating the Google Maps API with the front-end framework. However, through research and experimentation, we were able to successfully implement the feature. Additionally, implementing user roles and permissions required careful planning and execution to ensure proper functionality and security.
This project taught me the importance of thorough planning and proper execution when implementing new features and technologies. It also reinforced the value of user-centric design and how it can drive the success of a project. Overall, this project solidified my skills in web development and project management and prepared me for future projects in the field.
